As well as our annual All Points North event, we also co-organise a series of audaxes, alongside Sheffield CTC, that head out from the Heeley Institute throughout the year.

400km - Banbury Cross

Saturday 20th July 2019

Ride your hobby horse to Banbury Cross, then onwards till you can ride no more; you can have music wherever you go too, but you’ll have to provide it yourself (rings on fingers and bells on toes optional).

Our 410km cycling event has a 6pm start to mirror some of the Paris-Brest-Paris start times, giving you the opportunity to to fine tune your approach before tapering off your preparation.

Starting from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls are at Bolsover, Ollerton, East Bridgford Services, Harborough Services, Banbury, Measham, Willington Services and Ashbourne, plus two information controls.

Additional 24-hour facilities en-route at Watford Gap, plus several daytime refreshment options on return leg. No entries on the day.

200km - Eager Belvoir

Sunday 21st July 2019

A varied canter through the rolling vales and plains of south Nottinghamshire and north Leicestershire, sandwiched between hillier sections. Only one café control, but lots of other refreshment options en-route.

Our 209km cycling event starts from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls are at The Loaf Café, Crich, Kegworth, Bottesford and Inkersall Green, plus two information controls.

100km - Mad, Bad, Great and Good

A Romantic day out visiting Lord Byron’s old stately pile at Newstead Abbey (hence the name), taking in town and country, hilly and rolling terrain, rough and smooth road surfaces, and a couple of decent cafés.

114km cycling event starting from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls at The Loaf Café, Crich, Newstead Abbey Café and Inkersall Green, plus 1 information control.

200km - The Amber Weaver

Sunday 8th September 2019

A hilly ‘figure of eight’ route combining D.H. Lawrence country with the southern Peak District. Cafe controls at Teversal and two controls at Crich.

Our 206km cycling event starts from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls are at Teversal Visitor Centre, The Loaf cafe, Crich (twice at the cafe if you’re quick, otherwise it’ll be a receipt from the shop on your second time through) plus four information controls.

Paypal entries accepted up to 18.00 01/09. Entry on the day may also be possible, but please check with the organiser beforehand. Back to the ‘odd year’ route but for 2019 the start is in Heeley to tie in with the Heeley Big Boulder outdoor and music festival.

100km - An Amber Gambol

Sunday 8th September 2019

A fairly gentle loop exploring the Amber valley, by way of D.H. Lawrence country and the Eastmoor Ridge Road. Good cafe stops at Teversal and Crich and excellent refreshments at the end.

Our 105km cycling event starts from Heeley, Sheffield. Controls are at Teversal Visitor Centre and The Loaf cafe, Crich, plus two information controls.

Paypal entries accepted up to 18.00 01/09. Entry on the day may also be possible, but please check with the organiser beforehand. Back to the ‘odd-year’ route but for 2019 the start is in Heeley to tie in with the Heeley Big Boulder outdoor and music festival.
