Situated on the border between England and Scotland, Kielder Water reservoir is the largest man-made lake in Northern Europe. It’s surrounded by Kielder Forest which is also the largest man-made area of woodland in England, covering an area of 250 square miles. Coupled with Northumberland National Park, it has earned the accolade of International Dark Sky Park, making it officially the best place in England to gaze up at the stars.
